Summary of Patriotism (CGBSE Class 10)

The chapter “Patriotism” highlights the true meaning of love for one’s country. Patriotism is not just about words or slogans but about selfless devotion, sacrifice, and responsibility towards the nation. A real patriot is one who places the welfare of the country above personal interests, contributes to its progress, and safeguards its unity.

The text explains that patriotism is not limited to fighting wars; it is equally about honesty, hard work, discipline, and service in everyday life. History is filled with examples of great patriots who gave their lives for freedom and national pride. At the same time, the lesson warns against false patriotism, where people use patriotic feelings for selfish gains.

Ultimately, the lesson teaches students that true patriotism means working sincerely for the prosperity, peace, and development of the country, respecting its culture, and being ready to sacrifice when duty calls.
